ELECTRIC IS READY TO PLAY.

With over 170,000 charging stations across Europe, it’s truly ready for electric. To celebrate this, and to push the whole field of e-mobility forward, we made charging stations not only visible but impossible to miss.

On 24 January 2020, we created a city-wide light show powered entirely by Lisbon’s public charging stations. Each charger was equipped with the world’s strongest searchlights, filling the sky with 7,000-watt yellow beams. The spectacle showed that throughout the whole city there are a multitude of ways to charge. Showcasing to the world that electric is not only everywhere, it’s also ready to play – just in time for when the first all-electric MINI becomes available at the dealerships starting March 2020.

As the Green Capital of Europe 2020, the spectacle celebrated Lisbon itself. Not only is the city home to one of the largest networks of EV charging points in the world, but its own municipal car fleet is 39% electric. Demonstrating that it, too, believes in the power of electric mobility.
