BIG LOVE FROM THE MINI ROOFTOPS.

MINI USA announces limited-edition rooftops.

Owning a MINI has always been an act of self-expression. From the day the first car rolled off the production line in 1959, we’ve embraced individuality and championed new perspectives and creative thinking. For our latest creative collaboration, MINI USA partnered with three artists from culturally diverse backgrounds and asked each to design a piece of MINI Rooftop Art that articulates their unique voice and story.
RICH TU is a Filipino-American artist and designer RICH TU is a Filipino-American artist and designer

RICH TU is a Filipino-American artist and designer from Brooklyn. Rich’s work is inspired by his three passion points: community, social justice, and highlighting the first-gen immigrant experience through self-expression. His MINI Rooftop Art is called ‘Hiraya’, which means ‘fruit of one’s hopes, dreams and aspirations. It incorporates the colours of the national flag of the Philippines and the notion of self-discovery.

SHAWNA X is an independent artist and creative based in New York. Born in China, Shawna emigrated to the USA when she was eight, and she believes this radical cultural change as a child has empowered her as an adult. Shawna feels a great connection to people who have made significant transformations in their lives, and this can be seen in her MINI Rooftop Art, titled ‘Roads We Traveled’. It highlights the connections between people and demonstrates that we’re all on the same journey together.

SHANE GRIFFIN, also known as ‘Grif’ is an award-winning multidisciplinary visual artist and director from Ireland who now lives and works in New York. His work focuses on surrealism and abstraction and has led to him collaborating with many pop culture icons, including Kanye West, Kid Cudi, and Wiz Khalifa. His MINI Rooftop Art is called ‘ChromaFlow’ and is inspired by motion, freedom and diversity, three themes important to Grif as an artist.

Of all the parts of a MINI, it’s our iconic rooftop that has become known as a blank canvas for MINI owners to express their passions, stories and communities. To us, this is what BIG LOVE is all about, and we’re proud that, today, drivers in over a hundred different countries are connected by their shared passion for using their MINI to show the world who they are. This new project continues the legacy created by our MINI Family, and is, in part, a tribute to their creativity and individuality.

Each unique piece of the MINI Rooftop Art will be transformed into limited-edition MINI rooftop decals for sale in North America, with a portion of each sale donated to the American Immigration Council. The AIC is a non-partisan non-profit that supports and uplifts immigrant communities in North America. They believe society is made better, stronger and more creative with the energy and skills that immigrants bring, an opinion that MINI strongly shares.

We believe the world is more remarkable when we have the freedom to truly express ourselves.

We’re all different, but pretty good together.
BIG LOVE, MINI.
